Chapter Six:
The morning Jon and Becky left for Austin, Texas they stopped for coffee and some breakfast; while in line Jon noticed across the street a man pushing a shopping cart wearing fishnet stockings and a thong. Jon had noticed him earlier and the woman standing next to Jon told him that the mans name was Leslie and that he is a part of a group called Keep Austin Weird after being detained by Austin police for being homeless. Jon and Becky made quite a lot of pit stops throughout this chapter including Gibsonton Florida, Lake Charles Louisiana, New Orleans, Graceland, Memphis Tennessee, and lastly Richmond Virginia where Becky was to get on a train to New York

Chapter Seven:
Here in Richmond Jon drove from his hotel to Starbucks to meet Deborah, the adoptive mother of eight year old Ashley who is deaf and blind. Ashley came into Deborah's life through an announcement at a local United Methodist's Church, not long after she and her young son upped and moved to Texas after a long divorce. Ashley was born to an alcoholic, anorexic mother fourteen weeks prematurely. She weighed just over one and a half pounds and smelled of alcohol when delivered. Though completely blind, Ashley could see about two inches infront of her good eye, this way people could sign to her and she could understand what they were saying. Jon relates to Ashley a lot because of their fondness for curse words, which Ashley is very good at signing.

Chapter Eight:
In this chapter Jon opens up a little more about his past saying that he went to high school at Green Lake Mountain in Lakewood, during his first year here he states that it was physically painful. He hadn't started soccer yet and he would hide in the bathroom during lunchtime and in the library during free periods. During his sophomore year he was one of the first sophomores in the school's history to be in the starting lineup. By the end of high school he was given a scholarship to play Division One Soccer at Loyola Marymount University. Though he didn't get to play too much because of past and present injuries. After reminiscing, Jon decides to go find the Carrie Buck memorial; Carrie Buck was a women who was sterilized for being feebleminded, or in other words had disabilities. When Jon finally made it downtown there were no signs in sight for her memorial, so he decided to call up the main tourist information line and to ask if they knew where to go, they stated that they had never heard of it, saying they weren't the best place to be called for information on historical monuments. After calling numbers of people who he thought would know he got angry and yelled at a clerk at the historical information center on the outskirts of Charlottesville.

Part Two
Chapter Nine:
On August 5, the short bus rolled out of New York City with a new passenger, Jon's sister Kelly. Kelly was born in San Francisco until she was about twelve. Though Kelly is ten years older than Jon, they resembled each other a lot, more than their other siblings. For the mere fact that they experienced the same high school experiences. Kelly was considered gifted, not learning disabled. Kelly was most intelligent in the family. But, Kelly was also Jon's best friend. He couldn't have accomplished anything without her help. He looks up to her. They traveled to Maine together, where they stayed with the Whitehouses, who introduced Jon to a man named Cookie. Cookie was an old school Mainer who had made a living working on the piers. Most people who have known Cookie his entire life considered him to have a developmental disability, but Cookie didn't see it in any way. "Cookie who is well over six feet tall, also walks around town in a dress, heels, fake tits, and a blonde wig," said Miriam Whitehouse. In addition she added that Cookie was a painter, mostly of primitive Maine landscapes.

Chapter Ten:
Cookie wished to be a female, hoping to change his name to Dominique along with like five middle names. Though the amount of names Cookie wanted didn't strike odd to Miriam, his cat has about ten! In question, the feline was named Wolfgang Amadeus Gauguin London. Though Cookie doesn't have one stable job, his art work is hanging in an art gallery. Throughout this chapter Cookie tells stories to Jon, mainly about when he was in school. Like, one time when his teacher called him stupid and he punched her in the mouth. Though through all of his struggles, he too went on to college, though I'm not sure if he got a degree. He also married a woman named Lisa, and lived in Australia for two years, I'm not too sure of what happened to Lisa either.

Chapter Eleven:
Jon and Kelly's goal through out this chapter was to get back to Scarsdale New York and then head into the middle of the country toward Seamon Ohio where they would spend a weekend with Katie Basford, a young woman with Down Syndrome, and her family. In between New York and Seamon was Allentown PA and an amusement park called Dorney where they would make another pit stop to ride roller coasters with their friend Cully. Cully is a friend of Jon's and works as a Social Worker. At Dorney Jon and Kelly hang around with Cully, Chad, and Sy. Cully is Chads social worker, while Sy is Chad's dad. Chad has Cerebral Palsy and a brain tumor. Jon learns at the end of the chapter that if we are always falling apart, all we can do is learn to enjoy whatever looping or falling or twisting ride we are on.
